CHERYL GIBBS: Not a great film, but I still balled my eyes out

Have your say

The Duchess of Cambridge got more than she bargained for this week during a visit to Newcastle.

She got a big hug from a school boy who had waited patiently in line to see her.

When she got near the little boy, 10-year-old Terry Campbell, he held his arms out and she embraced him in a hug.

Judging by the photos, I wasn’t sure who looked more surprised but needless to say the young lad was very happy – he even blushed a little.

Kindness just oozes out of her. It’s lovely to see a member of the royal family so receptive to the general public and so at ease.

But what I thought was more interesting about this story was the media’s focus on the coat she was wearing and the fact she’s worn it out in public more than once.
