Have your say

I read about a woman who has started hiring herself out as a professional bridesmaid.

Now I’ve never been a bridesmaid. It was my dream as a little girl and I was even promised, aged five, by an older cousin that I could be her bridesmaid when she got married.

When the wedding invite turned up eight years later there was no mention of our agreement and I didn’t know how to tell her that she’d been my one and only hope.

I’m now at the age where my friends are starting to get married, but unfortunately they all seem to have sisters to be bridesmaids.

I live in hope that one day soon my day will come, but in the meantime I am seriously considering getting some careers advice from that woman in the papers.
