Lou: Steer clear of Christmas fare and have a dish you like

VERITY LUSH: Unrealistic to think we can blanket cover moral issues

Have your say

The menu for our Christmas party made its way around the office the other day so we could all choose what we want.

But neither of us have actually chosen anything remotely Christmassy.

Instead of traditional turkey, Jez has opted for the pork belly.

Being veggie, I wasn’t given a choice (don’t get me started on that issue), so it’s chickpea and butternut squash stew for me. And we’ve both gone for the chocolate brownie for pud.

At first I thought it seemed a little sad that we’ll be eating food we could choose any time of the year.

But as most office Christmas parties take place weeks before the big day, perhaps it’s okay to steer clear of the Christmas fare and choose something we actually like.
