Does anybody still record songs off the radio on to cassettes? Because I bet we all did this back in the day.

In the loft, I dusted off my old mix tapes from the 1980s when Bruno Brookes hosted the Top 40.

I’d be there, finger poised on the pause button to stop the tape whenever he talked over a song!

Funny to think, when I listen back, that as my love for radio developed, I would hit pause when the DJ finished, thus missing out the song! I was more interested in the talking.

As a teenager I couldn’t afford to buy loads of records, so I taped them. How do kids today collect songs? It may be the age of the download, but it’s still expensive to buy a ‘single’.
