The hot weather has been very welcome indeed. In fact, this has been the longest spell of clear weather we’ve had since April.
A high of 28C was reached in Gosport over the weekend and I witnessed the most stunning sunset when I was at Stokes Bay with the dogs on Sunday.
But boy did I suffer on Thursday as I did an eight-miler in preparation for the Great South Run later this month.
Drenched in sweat with knuckles dragging along the floor, I looked like I’d deserted the French Foreign Legion.
As I walked slowly through Stokes Bay golf course, the temptation must have been great to use me as target practice. A direct hit would have put me out of my misery!
