My beauty parlours boycott means I’m staying at home

Have your say

My definition of personal grooming is a quick going over with a razor once a week and a spray session with a bottle of fake-bake.

The beauty industry is big business these days and I blame Sex And The City.

Before Carrie and her Manolo Blahnik-wearing friends appeared on the scene, no-one had ever heard of a micro-pedi or a Brazilian!

Some women my age have always done their hair and nails at home.

But I say there’s never been a better time to embrace DIY beauty, with top-quality salon products available to use in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

So I’m boycotting the glamour of the beauty parlours and relying on my own routine.
