My kids relate to lives being offered up for consumption

Children adore being spoilt by their grandparents, but is it too much?

Rodrick Rules: Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2 is one of those rare movies where the sequel is actually better than the first one.

It’s a cracker of a movie, helped along with subtle parenting moments which all of us will relate to.

My daughter loves the books and, although she groaned a lot that the film took a few liberties, (my words not hers – she actually said: ‘wrong, that’s plain wrong’), it got a pretty decent score all round.

And, with the mother taking up a new job as a columnist, my kids could understand all about the issues over family lives suddenly being offered up for public consumption.

Mind you, I think all kids feel that way whenever their parents say anything at all about them, columnist or not.
