Iwant to take a few words to say a couple of thank yous. The first is to all of you who read this column and have probably been bored rigid by talk of Great South running and charity fundraising. So, thank you for being patient and letting me wibble on about it.
But I also want to say thank you to the kind people who together raised about £450 for the Canine Partners for Independence charity for which I was doing the run.
I was chuffed so many people contributed, especially when so many other people run the race and there are so many other good causes.
I have been forced to hang up my trainers while I deal because of a dodgy knee, so I can reassure you all I won’t now be boring you with running tales – for a while, at least.
