No apologies about Big Apple trip - except to the bank

COMMENT: People need to have viable alternative to driving

Have your say

By the time you read this column I’ll be across the Atlantic in the Big Apple, spending money I don’t have, eating what I shouldn’t and generally having a blast!

Matt and I decided to treat ourselves to a pre-Christmas break to NYC. Yes, I know we’ve already been this year but I couldn’t resist.

I absolutely love the city – there’s something quite special about it.

I’m in London all the time and for me it just doesn’t have the same buzz. But it doesn’t cost me thousands of pounds either so I shouldn’t really compare.

I won’t try to justify this trip by calling it a ‘working holiday’ because I honestly intend to do nothing more than be self-indulgent.

No apologies, except maybe to my bank manager because I seriously shouldn’t be going.
