No early decorations and no Wham - I’m a happy woman

Be careful Mr Compton, you may end up as a key fob

Have your say

Is it my imagination, or have we been spared really early Christmas decorations this year?

Normally I like to have a good old rant to anyone who will listen to me about how we are bombarded with baubles as early as September.

But this year they’ve either escaped my attention or stores are being a bit more realistic about our drastically-reduced spending power and have reined in all that glitz in tune with this time of austerity.

Even better, I still haven’t heard a peep out of Wham, who by now are normally annoying me by singing Last Christmas all day every day.

If that song could be barred, along with Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade, then I would be a very happy woman indeed.
