No stage fright for Matt as he pops the question to Amy

RICK JACKSON: Why aren’t we on the streets protesting about Brexit?

Have your say

Congratulations to my thespian buddies who have just got engaged in a rather unusual way.

For they did it in front of a live audience of theatregoers.

It was on the last night of South Downe Musical Society’s production of Avenue Q at Ferneham Hall, Fareham.

As the cast took their final bows, producer Matt decided it was the perfect time to ask his school teacher girlfriend Amy, who was playing a Bad Idea Bear, to be his missus.

He jumped up on stage, went down on bended knee to a somewhat shocked and unsuspecting Amy, and asked her to marry him.

She obviously didn’t think it a ‘bad idea’ and said yes.

I really hope they make their wedding vows on the stage too.

I’ve already bought my hat.
