The ‘park and sail’ idea to help get visitors into the city is a brilliant idea.
But I think it’s a shame the scheme sets sail from the International Ferry Port as most people have already endured the carnage on the M275 by then.
My knowledge of boating finance is scant. But just imagine how unique a shopping experience it would be to park up at Port Solent and jump on a boat that would zip you into Gunwharf.
You’d get a micro tour of the harbour, shop in one of the UK’s most dynamic outlets, then head homeward on your mini-cruise, enjoying light refreshments as you alighted.
There can’t be another city in the country that could offer a shopping experience like it.
