Hats off to the team at Haslar Hospital Radio, who stood out in the wind and rain last Saturday on Lee-on-the-Solent seafront.
They may have raised just £50, but the way they have increased awareness of their service is priceless.
They certainly seem to be the most pro-active of charities, as I’m always seeing them out and about or in The News.
I bet many thought hospital radio had died a death, but these guys show it’s still alive and well.
As a former presenter of such a service on the Isle of Wight, I know from personal experience how comforting their efforts are to their listeners and how much their bedside visits are appreciated.
