Raspberries are a right laugh

I always get a sense of anxiety and nervousness – sometimes even a cold chill down my spine – when I’m bathed, dressed and looking clean and smart and then my partner asks if I’ll feed Alyssa before I go.

Of course I want to feed my beautiful little girl.

In fact, it gives me a sense of satisfaction to know that she is content with a full belly.

But she has started doing something that could instantly turn my clean and smart look into a stained and dirty look instead.

Alyssa’s new thing is to pucker up her lips, stick her tongue out and then blow as hard as she can.

Commonly, this is known as blowing a raspberry.

It’s quite funny normally and a bit of spit hurtling towards me won’t do much harm.

But her favourite time to do this is when she has a mouth full of food.

The food goes in, she blows a raspberry and out it all comes.

Until the raspberry blowing stops, Alyssa won’t be the only one wearing a bib at dinner time.
