Another IOW Festival done and dusted then, with organiser John Giddings hailing it the best ever. It was good to see the live coverage on Sky over the weekend and my spies on the (rather muddy) ground declared the highlights to be the Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon and a special nod to Chase and Status.

Rock icon Paul Weller is set to release a clothing range for pal Liam Gallagher’s fashion line. Weller has designed six items, ranging from scarves and leather jackets, to be included in the Beady Eye frontman’s Pretty Green collection.
Razorlight have stepped into a boxing ring to perform a special fundraising gig to help save the famed All Stars Boxing Gym in North London, which will shut down unless bosses can raise £100,000. Johnny Borrell and his bandmates staged a 90-minute benefit concert for 250 fans from inside the gym’s main boxing ring, and managed to pull in £4,000 to donate to the cause.
U2 are ‘gutted’ they won’t have a new album finished before next year, as they originally wanted to release new tracks this summer. The With or Without You group had originally planned to release new material by the end of their 360 Degree tour this July, but their commitments have made it impossible to finish sessions for the record, leaving them disappointed.
Country star Shania Twain has got her voice back and she plans to debut her first single in six years during the final episode of her current reality US TV show Why Not? The Man, I Feel Like a Woman singer famously lost her voice following the stress of her marriage breakdown, when husband Mutt Lange left her for her assistant. Her new show has largely been about her struggle to get into the studio again and record a hit.
