Remembering Athena shop makes me feel extremely old

Have your say

You know it’s birthday season in my house when I start pulling out my hair and baking up a storm – the first because yet again I have to come up with gift ideas for men (husband, son and brother in quick succession) and the second because the presents are invariably rubbish and I try to make up for it with calories.

But I was very happy to come across a shop in Fareham precinct called Giggle.

It reminded me very much of Athena, what with the posters and all. But when I said this to the shop assistant she looked at me puzzled.

‘You remember’ I said, with pleading tone, thinking ‘oh God, please don’t let me be old alone’.

But she didn’t remember. She hadn’t been alive long enough.
