If you’re of a certain age, you should be heartened to discover that Grocer magazine has just launched a Facebook campaign to bring back defunct food brands and sweeties of yesteryear.

There’s a great deal of enthusiasm and nostalgia for the treats that we had in our youth, from hedgehog crisps to fish and chip-shaped snacks and Corona to Cresta.

Recently I spent a whopping £7.50 on a box of nostalgic American Lucky Charms cereal.
