At the weekend one of my friends updated their Facebook status with the words: ‘Do the terrible twos ever end?’
In a twisted way, it was quite nice to read that we’re not the only ones going through this completely normal but sometimes frustrating stage of parenthood.
I’m always amazed that two-year-old Caitlin can turn from a calm angel into an emotional screaming wreck in an instant.
Her most recent change in mood came when she’d made a building block tower – and then accidentally dropped it on the floor, causing it to fall apart.
She stamped her feet so hard I thought she’d make a big gaping hole in the floor.
The light is appearing at the end of the tunnel though. The tantrums are becoming much less frequent and she’s learning to control her mood when something goes wrong.
So yes, the terrible twos do get better. But I’m told that the troublesome threes then the fearsome fours are next.
I can’t wait for the fabulous fives.
