Should we re-home, or go for a furniture-nibbling puppy?

STEVE CANAVAN: It was a lot of rattle over just a little roll

Have your say

It’s that time of year again when I suddenly feel like getting a dog.

It just makes sense when the weather’s good and you want to go for a good long walk, but feel the need for some company.

So I took the youngest and went off to The Ark in Stubbington to see if we could find ourselves a canine companion.

It’s a super place but unfortunately not the best environment in which to view dogs as they are confined and noisy.

In fact the racket shocked us into a quick rethink about whether re-homing a dog is for us, or whether we’d be better with a furniture-nibbling puppy.

So, a dog with a bit of baggage, or a pup that’ll probably eat some of our baggage.

What a decision. Aaaargh. More goldfish, anyone?
