Size does matter – when it comes to shopping.
If things aren’t getting more expensive, they’re getting smaller.
Years ago us cost-conscious shoppers would have had a right old toot if a grocery product went up by one penny.
Now, it’s not pennies, but percentages.
It appears that the cost of our basic foods have gone up by 10 per cent in the past year.
Not content with that, many of our popular products have ‘shrunk’ in size by as much as 20 per cent.
So I wasn’t going bonkers recently when, buffing and puffing my bod in the bath and lathering my Imperial Leather soap, I thought: ‘I’m sure this soap seems smaller’.
It is. It’s gone from 125g to 100g. Sneaky, eh?
So the soap IS more expensive because there’s less of it.
Be vigilant folks. When you’re shopping, check price AND size.
