I’ve never been a slippers man.
One of the nice things about finally getting home after a long day is untying the laces of my shoes and flipping them off into the corner of the room.
That’s when my feet are finally free.
The last thing I want to do is put on a pair of slippers.
It’s either barefoot or, if it’s cold, socks on until the next morning when the shoes go back on to suffocate my feet once more.
But now I fear I will be forced to buy a pair of restricting slippers for safety reasons.
And it’s all because of the children.
They have toys such as building blocks and Lego that are small and somehow manage to escape from their boxes and hide in places that the human eye cannot see.
I have lost count of how many times I have stood on one of these building blocks or Lego pieces and the pointy sharp part has made contact with my foot.
Most people wear slippers for comfort, I’ll be wearing mine as a form of protective clothing.
