STEVE POWER: It's all mince pie in the sky

All the food manufacturers do is put them in a box with Christmas images on it to make them seem festive.

Which makes me think, do all supermarkets assume that we won’t buy these foods at Christmas unless they’re in festive packaging?

If that’s the case no-one would ever buy a frozen turkey for Christmas dinner would they?

Since you never see turkeys wrapped in Christmas packaging. Maybe they should start wrapping the more expensive meats like beef or venison joints in Christmas wrapping, that way we’ll buy more of them and the supermarkets will make more money?

In that case if you’re reading this Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s I’ve already copyrighted that idea, so it’ll cost you!

o The definition of a Christmas shopper who is on the ball at this time of year, when most of us have already had enough is someone who also does their Christmas mega-food shop at the supermarket... and then goes to the self-service checkout to pay for it.

If you have the ability to do that, you’re probably a new breed of super-human. Congratulations!

o It only just occurred to me, for loads of people who received laptops or tablet computers last Christmas, this year it’s going to be a right pain because if you set them all up on Christmas Day last year that means your anti-virus is probably going to expire on Christmas Eve this year. So with all the other hassles you’re going to be having to deal with on Christmas Eve this year, such as getting last-minute presents or food, or travelling home, on top of all that, you’re going to have to update your anti-virus systems!

What a rubbish thing to have to do at Yuletide.
