Suggestion of a laptop on the table didn’t go down too well

BLAISE TAPP: Generation X’s retirement plans are heading for stormy waters

Have your say

I can’t believe it’s Christmas next week. It doesn’t feel like it at all here in Malaysia.

Yes, there are Christmas trees up in the hotel lobbies and a few lights and decorations, but it’s not the décor that makes Christmas, it’s the people.

Other than my partner, Matt, and a production crew, there is no-one. There’s no mad chaos in the lead-up to the big day.

No last-minute dash to Commercial Road because I’ve forgotten to buy Mrs Smith down the road a Christmas card.

Nope, it’s just work as usual. I’m sure the big day will be different – I intend to Skype my family although I’m not sure my suggestion of putting the laptop on the table during Christmas dinner went down so well!
