So the Scout Association has done a survey to see how pioneering our youth are.
It found that not many kids can tie a reef knot, put up a tent or cook a meal.
But on the other hand, they’re all extremely adept at social media, sending e-mails and texting.
I don’t think we need be too concerned, as I’m pretty sure when it comes to the time that they need to tie a knot or cook a meal, they can simply look it up on their smartphone or laptop and figure it out that way.
Let’s hope for their sake that the tent comes with written instructions though.
The other big drawback is that, apparently, they can’t read maps.
Hmm. But isn’t that what they’ve got GPS for? Who needs maps these days?
