Well done to the hardworking team behind the Portsmouth Triathlon last weekend.
It really showcased how our city could potentially host a world-class event.
If you were fast asleep on Sunday morning you missed 700 participants swimming, cycling and running through Southsea. Some were young racing snakes, Lycra-clad human sticks of muscle, whilst others were slightly more ‘realistically’ proportioned (but still in Lycra).
Each and every one crossed the line with a smile and spoke highly of the course.
Triathlon is our fastest-growing sport and Portsmouth is a brilliant natural location – safe water, level roads and a welcoming public.
