Have your say

Since when did it become acceptable to diss Santa?

You can’t escape the bloke in the big red suit at this time of year, as the advertising campaigns rev up a notch from the beginning of November.

But for the first time ever, a cynical twist to the way Santa is portrayed has crept in – and I can’t say I like it.

TV stars Holly Willoughby and Fearne Cotton are the latest to make out that they can deliver presents better and more efficiently than good old Father Christmas. There’s also a radio advert doing the rounds that features rapping kids claiming mum does it better than Santa.

Talk about ungrateful. Some parents clearly think they don’t get enough credit for the part they play and that’s just sad.
