Every now and then a story appears in the news of a birth happening in a strange place.
This week it was 22-year-old Jenny Larkin, who gave birth to her third child in the front seat of a taxi.
She’d called a cab in the early hours of the morning after going into labour in Redcar, North Yorkshire.
Two days later she was mortified to be given a £40 clean-up bill by the taxi driver.
She said: ‘We’re on benefits and £40 is a lot of money.’
Well here’s what I think. If £40 is a lot of money to you, why would you be having more children?
After all, they hardly come cheap!
And the driver? I’m sure his valeting bill and lost earnings came to a lot more than £40.
