CLIVE SMITH: It’s time to get our priorities right and put our country first

Have your say

Rumour has it the Spice Girls are to reform next year and tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of reaching number one with Wannabe.

They are even believed to be playing at one of the Isle of Wight’s festivals.

I remember the buzz going around the radio industry in 1996 about these fresh, feisty five girls who were going to take the charts by storm.

They came to the old Power FM studios for a interview and were like Tasmanian devils. They tore the station apart.

The rest was history. They may not be the world’s best singers and would probably get the boot during bootcamp on The X Factor, but they prove what can be achieved with hard work, determination and having some brilliant songwriters behind you.
