Have your say

We built a shed in the back garden for the children to use.

That was the idea that wafted through our heads.

It was quite vague, but what we really wanted was for them to have somewhere to go outside that wasn’t a bus stop.

It was a stoke of genius.

That shed has turned into a poker den, a film studio, a spin-the-bottle party house and is also the home of table football.

The shed, it is fair to say, is the most interesting part of our garden – indeed property.

It leaves my husband and I, and the dog, looking wistfully through the kitchen window at the action going on at the bottom of the garden.

To all those who say children don’t leave their rooms enough, I say this, build them a shed and they will go.
