Have your say

I hate to sound like an old fogey, but has anyone else started getting frustrated by the time it takes to buy a light bulb these days?

In the past, the most you had to work out was whether you wanted 30, 50 or 100 watts, and whether it was a press in and turn bulb or a screw in one.

It took about a minute to buy one. But now it can take you about an hour
trying to find the right one.

I looked on one store’s website and they had 91 different types of energy-saving LED bulb for sale, 56 types of halogen bulb, 43 types of candle bulb, 30 spotlight bulbs and 27 different types of globe bulb, whatever they are.

Can we just start simplifying things please?

It’s so much hassle choosing that I think
I’d rather just sit in the dark.
