Be careful Mr Compton, you may end up as a key fob

So my mum’s 60th birthday celebrations are over, which in a way is probably a good thing because I put such ridiculous pressure on myself to make sure that her birthday was extra special.

Thank goodness it was, but now it’s done and I know she felt special, I can breathe a little easier.

We ended what was a whole weekend’s worth of celebrations with a meal on Monday night – her actual birthday.

I organised a surprise dinner at the Fox and Hounds in Funtington and we hired the private room upstairs.

We all hid behind the curtains and started singing Happy Birthday as she entered the room, not coming out until the second verse.

It was all very odd, but all the more reason why my family just rocks!
