We mocked our cars, but the French still love driving theirs

Have your say

The French really do love their own cars and I quite like that. It’s very patriotic.

French cars don’t have the best reputation when it comes to reliability or the driving experience, but everywhere you go it’s battered Citroens or Peugeots and speeding Renaults.

Shame we didn’t have the same love affair with our own cars.

But we Brits wouldn’t buy a car just because it was British, we’d buy a car we thought was the best.

We mocked the Allegro and sniggered at the Metro and bought a Golf instead.

Ironic to think that in 2014 we still do build cars in the UK but many of them are Peugeots.

Just don’t tell the French!
