Have your say

The media have had a good laugh at the expense of foreign footballers, especially those at Manchester City who are reportedly being told to watch programmes such as In The Night Garden and Teletubbies on CBeebies to help them get to grips with English.

Seems City boss Manuel Pellegrini thinks that’s a much better method than audiobooks, translators and evening classes.

At least they’re trying to learn. Southampton FC manager Mauricio Pochettino still gives interviews in Spanish.

But I realise picking up the lingo is not easy. As someone trying to expand his French vocabulary, I’ve watched TV5 on satellite but it hasn’t really helped.
