So while we’re moaning and muttering about our weather – and quite rightly so – we should spare a thought for our cousins across the big pond who are shivering their way through temperatures as low as -50c.
Yep, the great lakes of Canada and the USA are set to freeze.
I know how cold it can be. When I lived in Canada and it got to -25, I went outside and felt the mucus in my nose ice up.
I’m sorry, but there’s no way that I could cope with those temperatures in this country.
By comparison it’s positively balmy here. Yet I sit in my kitchen in front of the fire, with the heating on, and the oven, and wearing a bobble hat and I still shiver.
Me and ice ages? Not today thanks.
