The Chocolate Ship will dock in Portsmouth on May 11.

After 12 weeks at sea, the two-masted traditional tall ship Tres Hombres will sail into port with 50,000 bars of organic chocolate on board.

I’ve sailed a little over the years and there are times when it’s dull.

Low-wind, chores complete, nothing to do. A decadent feast of chocolate would have been way too much to resist, particularly for my relentless appetite.

Who could blame them for a moment or two of weakness, chomping through their body weight in cocoa-milky goodness?

The ship’s name means Three Men in English. That’ll be the average body weight of each sailor on board.
