Why would anyone admit to checks in such a public way?

I read that Jamie Oliver’s wife, Jools, admitted in an interview that she checks his phone, e-mails and tweets to make sure he’s not being unfaithful.

This has bamboozled me. Why would anyone admit this in such a public manner? Surely it’s something that you would do in an embarrassed moment and hide away with the shame of it all. Especially if your partner passes your furtive inspection with a clean sheet.

But more than that, I don’t think Jools has thought it through.

Because anybody with enough money can simply go out and buy a secret phone, secret laptop, secret anything.

I’m not suggesting for a second that Jamie would ever do that. But isn’t it strange that his wife hasn’t figured this out?
