Why would you want to know if people rate you hot or not?

Have your say

What is going on with ‘hot or not’ videos on Facebook?

If you put your name down for one of these, the perpetrators will rate whether you are – quite simply – hot or not.

This seems such a bizarre thing to me, similar to the ‘like for a rate’, whereby if you like a post you are then graded.

All of these things are happening right now in the teenage world around me, and I am standing confused in the middle wondering quite why anyone would be dying to know – so publicly – if their friends (or very casually acquainted, vague persons met once, three times removed) considered them to be attractive or not.

But then, I suppose I am not 13 or 14 and into all this stuff.

And thank God for that.
