Yeah, Darcey’s catchphrase is beginning to irritate me

CHERYL GIBBS: Not a great film, but I still balled my eyes out

Have your say

Strictly Come Dancing never fails to brighten up a weekend, but what’s going on with new judge Darcey Bussell?

Viewers might have expected a former ballerina to speak with graceful elegance. To be honest, I was expecting nothing less than verbal pirouettes.

But, yeah, her habit of saying yeah each time she comments on a performance has started to grate. You with me, yeah?

A producer must have had a quiet word because she’s clearly fighting the urge to use her favourite word.

As far as catchphrases go, Darcey’s isn’t as appealing as Craig Revel-Horwood’s ‘darhling’, or Len Goodman’s ‘sev-ern!’. Yet it’s less irritating than much of what Bruce Forsyth says, so she’s not all bad.
