Have your say

For teams outside the Premier League not involved in the play-offs lottery, football’s close season has started.

But for Pompey, the summer ‘break’ will be anything but quiet.

A complete overhaul of the playing squad and preparation for League One amid the fight for the club’s very survival means that there will be no let-up in the action at Fratton Park.

Of course, you will get the most comprehensive Pompey updates in The News and at portsmouth.co.uk – and now we have another means of keeping fans informed of all the important developments at Fratton Park.

Our new free Portsmouth News Football app for smart phones features in-depth coverage of Pompey, with informed news breaks and analysis from sports writers Neil Allen, Jordan Cross and Steve Wilson and stories by news reporters about the club’s off-the-field battle for survival.

And it’s a great way to have your say on Pompey too – Twitter is incorporated into the app, with fans able to read and reply to the latest relevant tweets about the club. All content can be shared using Twitter, Facebook, or e-mail.

Once the new season dawns, the app will offer a comprehensive in-season service, with minute-by-minute text updates and live details of every match in play across all divisions, leagues and competitions and a stats section including tables and full match details from current and past games, including results, bookings, team line-ups, and squad information.

But although there will be no on-field action for a few months, now is a great time to try our new way of keeping you in touch with everything Pompey.

Our plan is that, as fans enjoy the app the summer, we improve it further in time for the kick-off of the League One Promotion Tour! It is available at the Google Play store for Android phones only.

In print, online and by app – we will keep you up to date with Pompey news on and off the pitch.
