THERE were wishes at the end of this rainbow.

This year Fareham Shopping Centre has chosen The Rainbow Centre as its designated charity.

And over the weekend it held the Wish Upon a Rainbow event.

People were encouraged to write down a wish and stick it on a giant rainbow, in exchange for a small donation.

Money from the two-day event went to The Rainbow Centre, in Palmerston Drive.

Founder of the centre Helen Somerset How said: ‘We couldn’t be more pleased that the shopping centre put on this colourful event.

‘It was fantastic to see people come along and put their wishes onto the giant rainbow.

‘Some of the children had such mature wishes as well, like a nine-year-old boy who asked for no more fighting in the world.’

Three wishes will be picked at random and will win prizes donated from stores inside the shopping centre.

Crowds were entertained by shopping centre mascot Toffee Bear, a balloonist and Fareham Mayor Trevor Cartwright also attended.
