HUNDREDS of people turned out to pay tribute to two friends that died in a car crash on the anniversary of their deaths.

Dean Paling, 23, and Tom Emery, 24, died in a car crash on December 2, 2013 on the B2177 Southwick Road near Boarhunt.

The Mitsubishi Lancer they were in left the road, flipped and hit a tree.

Dean, from Botley, a former powerboat champion, and Tom, from Southampton were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 200 people went to Hedge End retail park on the anniversary of their deaths where a shrine had been created in their memory.

Friends came from all over the area to pay their respects.

In July, an inquest ruled their deaths as accidental. It heard that Tom had lost control of the car, which had extensive modifications, which he had bought days before.
