THESE friends got to grips with the art of quilting at an adult taster session in Fareham.

The patchwork and quilting proved to be a popular afternoon pursuit as scores of people turned up to take part in the intricate hobby at the Westbury Manor Museum.

Louisa Trafford, of St Sebastian Crescent in Fareham, attended with friends Sam Rosa and Dani Sharpe.

Louisa said: ‘It was good fun. We all made a small piece of patchwork and took it away with us.

‘If people wanted to get into it they could take more away with them from the session.

‘I decided to attend to learn a bit more about the quilting techniques and spend the day with friends.’

She added: ‘A lot of people attended the session. It proved to be quite popular.

‘It’s all about having the time to do it. If you have to take a course to learn more, it’s the commitment of one night every week.

‘But it’s nice to be able to do one session in the day here and there.’
