TREKKER Paul Vincent will climb Mount Kilimanjaro next month to raise money for a children’s cancer charity.

Paul, from Gosport, wants to raise £3,500 for CLIC Sargent when he takes part in a 100km 10-day trek to reach the peak of Africa’s highest mountain in February.

He has climbed Mount Snowdon in Wales and completed a 50-mile bike ride around the Isle of Wight to help prepare for his upcoming mountain trek in Tanzania.

Paul said: ‘Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro has always been a lifelong ambition of mine and it is probably the most difficult challenge I will ever face.

‘The climb is much more important because I lost my cousin a few years ago after his eight-year-battle with leukaemia.

‘I want to raise as much money and awareness for this very worthy cause as I can so that children, young people and their families can gain the help and support they need.’

CLIC Sargent provides clinical and emotional support for children and young people with cancer, and their families.
