A FOOD bank has been set up in Paulsgrove to help those in need.

The Foodbank scheme, which has been running successfully in Southsea, now has a depot at Paulsgrove Baptist Church.

Pastor Martin Rutty said: ‘We are now working with the Paulsgrove housing office and Kings Church in Southsea under the Foodbank voucher scheme. We can accept donations of food any time between Monday and Friday, and will distribute the food packages from the Paulsgrove church between midday and 2pm on Tuesdays and Fridays.’

Cllr Steven Wylie, in charge of housing, said: ‘This is a fantastic scheme and essential to give families much-needed help in times of crisis.’
