L to R) Sergeant Craig Winter, LBdr Paul Grant and LBdr Martin Atkinson, from 12 Regiment Royal Artillery at Thorney Island, take part in a cycling challenge in West Street, Havant, to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund
CYCLING non-stop for nine hours is exhausting stuff.
But it certainly helps if you have crowds of shoppers cheering you on and some lively workout music to keep you motivated.
Soldiers from 12th Regiment Royal Artillery kept a smile on their faces as they collectively cycled 476 miles on stationary bikes in West Street, Havant.
The soldiers took it in turns to cycle the distance, which is the number of miles between Havant and Paderborne, Germany.
The town was the home of the regiment until it moved to Thorney Island four years ago.
Shoppers threw their spare pennies in a bucket, raising cash for the Army Benevolent Fund.
Sergeant Craig Winter said: ‘They support us, so we are supporting them.’
Also taking part were LBdr Paul Grant, LBdr Martin Atkinson, LBdr Carl Gillespie, Gunner Ashley Lusted and Gunner Frank Asare.
