COMPANY directors who cycled around the country have raised thousands of pounds for charity as a result of their efforts.
Five officials from Tile Giant cycled from its store at The Pompey Trade Park, in Fratton, to Edinburgh over eight days.
The challenge saw the team of five clock up 690 miles.
They managed to raise more than £10,000 for the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice Trust, which cares for children with a short life expectancy and their families.
Upali Herath, store manager of Portsmouth’s Tile Giant store, presented the team with a £150 cheque for the trust at the start of their journey on June 2.
He also made breakfast and lunch for the participants.
Mr Herath said: ‘I’m extremely proud of what they have managed to achieve. It’s for a fantastic cause. Children in this country need to be looked after.’
