A PENSIONER spent more than 24 hours stuck in a bog after getting trapped while she took her dog for a walk.

The 82-year-old woman was reported missing after she did not return home on Tuesday.

Police were told she had disappeared at 3.30pm on Wednesday, and a search of the area around Ventnor on the Isle of Wight was launched to find her.

The woman, who has not been named, was discovered at around 6.30pm in a bog in Pelham Wood with her dog.

She was rescued and taken to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport with mild hypothermia.
