HUNDREDS of homes in Gosport have signed up to a council-backed insulation scheme.

Nearly 200 houses have signed up to the Insulate Hampshire scheme, which offers free loft and cavity wall insulation.

Gosport Borough Council says so far the scheme has saved those residents £27,000 in fuel bills.

It is being run by Hampshire County Council and other district councils in the region.

The scheme comes to an end on September 30 and people are being urged to get their applications in before then.
