SOME people may see knitting as a boring hobby.

But it has shaken off its uncool image and been embraced by men and women, young and old.

Knit and natter groups have taken the country by storm with people meeting up in pubs, parks and cafes to drop one, pearl one.

This group knit everything from warm hats, to colourful blankets and even Christmas jumpers at their weekly meetings at Leigh Park Library.

And the best bit about it is they get to have a good natter and some tea and biscuits while they knit.

But it’s not just wool they work with. There is beautiful crocheting and embroidery going on too.

The group meets every Monday afternoon in library, in Park Parade, for a chat and to share ideas on what to make next.
