IT’S been a tough time lately for Dave Jeal after he had minor surgery to his spine two years ago which left him disabled.

So it was a nice surprise when he found out he had won a pair of tickets to see Pompey play.

The 40-year-old, from Ditcham Crescent in Havant, will be watching the Blues against Carlisle United this afternoon.

He said: ‘It’s going to be an experience because I haven’t been down there for many years. With my disability I can’t get out that much. It will be a wonderful experience.’

Dave was nominated by his wife Laura, 36. She said: ‘He’s been through so much with the operation. We have had to move house. It’s been a major turning point in his life. It’s been a real struggle for all of us. I don’t know of a more deserving, caring, brave, lovely person than Dave to receive a pair of tickets after everything he’s gone through.’

Dave will take along his 10-year-old son Bobby, pictured.

The News Pompey tickets giveaway offers a pair of tickets to every Pompey home game this season, to a deserving fan. Email ruth.scammell@thenews.co.uk to nominate someone.
